ADR 2013: annual verification and survey of activity limits (A1, A2, …) for the transport of dangerous goods by road

With the recent UNECE publication, the new ADR 2013 are available as from 1 January 2013. The ADR is the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road. Of particular interest are the activity limits for radionuclides (A1, A2, activity concentration for exempt material, activity limit for an exempt consignment).
As part of its verification procedure, the Nucleonica team provides an annual check on the activity limits for use in the various applications. The recent check on the ADR 2013 values shows that the activity limits are unchanged in comparison to the ADR 2012 values. The table for activity limits for unlisted nuclides also remains unchanged.
The ADR 2013 values agree also with the latest activity limits from the IAEA from 2012 as given in the SSR-6. THE IAEA update is not published every year. The previous update was from 2009.
