EC-IAEA training course on Nucleonica in Monaco

The next joint EC-IAEA Nuclear Science training course with Nucleonica, NuTRoNS-2, will take place on 14-16 Nov. 2011 in Monaco. This 3-day introductory course will cover topics such as nuclear data and gamma spectrometry focused on environmental radioactivity studies. New 2010 CODATA values of the Fundamental Constants

The Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA) Task Group on Fundamental Constants have issued a new 2010 update on the fundamental constants. The last update we used for the Karlsruhe Nuclide Chart and for Nucleonica was from 2005 (P. J. Mohr and B. N. Taylor, Rev. Mod. Phys. 77, 1 (2005). We are currently updating the Chart and Nucleonica with these most recent values.

Nucleonica welcomes the Kiev Institute for Nuclear Reseach (KINR)

Through an institutional license agreement, staff at the Kiev Institute for Nuclear Research in Ukraine have now full Premium access to the Nucleonica modules and features. This access have been made possible through financial assistance from the Institute for Transuranium Elements. The Nucleonica team looks forward to a close interaction with the KINR colleagues and encourages a strong use of the web portal.

Nucleonica team presentation at “Kerntechnik am KIT” exhibition

Once again the Nucleonica Web Portal and the Karlsruhe Nuclide Chart were presented to the students starting their Master degree courses at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) at the Institute exhibition of Fakultät für Maschinenbau. Both products will be exhibited along with presentations from eight different research institutes involved in nuclear science.
The purpose of this event is to give the students information on trainee positions, research fellowships, etc. and provide an overview of research activities in the field of nuclear science. This is a good opportunity for Nucleonica team to present itself to the students and to demonstrate a research approach based on the modelling and computing.

Nucleonica’s Decay Engine now with Date Calculator

July 2nd, 2011

Following requests from our users, we have added the possibility to enter the decay time in the Decay Engine in Date format. This is very useful for example for calculations for standards. One just enters the date on the certificate and the Decay Engine returns the present activity, mass etc. as shown in the figure below.
